Life is full of nuances; nothing is entirely black or white. However, in games, we can have a Manichaean world—it’s a simplification of the real world that makes us feel more comfortable. Binairo is one such game. It requires only 1s and 0s. All you have to do is fill in a grid so that each row and column contains the same number of 1s and 0s, while never having the same number appear more than twice consecutively. Finally, the last constraint is that each column must be distinct from the others (this constraint also applies to rows). Here are two 10x10 grids.
